The Xerox printer setup involves unboxing, loading print media, installing ink/toner cartridges, and installing the printer software. If you are setting up the Xerox printer for the first time, keep reading the instructions below.


Xerox Printer Setup
  • Start by unboxing your printer from the package.
  • Take out the box contents and keep them aside for later usage.
  • Remove all the protective tapes and covers from the printer.
  • Lift/open the front door and take out the toner cartridge.
  • Remove the seals and protective film from the toner cartridge and then fix the cartridge into the printer.
  • Close the front cover and pull out the paper input tray/cassette.
  • Fan a paper stack and load it into the tray/cassette.
  • Adjust the paper stack with the paper width guides and fix the tray/cassette into the printer.
  • Next, connect your printer to an electrical outlet using the supplied power adapter/cord and turn the printer switch on.
  • If you wish to set up the fax (if applicable), connect the supplied telephone line cord to your printer’s Fax line port.
  • Set your basic preferences such as language, region, date, and time on the printer’s control panel.
  • If your printer has a touchscreen panel, follow the on-screen instructions and complete the setup.
  • Finally, install the printer software on your computer and verify the printer functionality.


The driver for your Xerox printer is available on the supplied CD-ROM. If it is not supported by your computer, download the driver for your printer by clicking the Driver Download button on this page. However, you can also get it from the official Xerox site.


  • Before starting, remove any previously installed Xerox printer drivers on your Windows computer. Doing so will avoid installation issues in the future.
  • Close all the running programs and launch the default browser.
  • Visit the official Xerox site, click the Support and Drivers tab, and enter your printer’s model number in the search field.
  • Hit the Enter key and click your printer model in the search result.
  • Select the Drivers & Downloads tab.
  • Choose your Windows OS version from the Platform drop-down menu.
  • If necessary, apply filters such as language, digital front end, and tags.
  • Click the Apply Filters button and select the required driver from the displayed list.
  • Next, click the Download button to save the driver file to your computer.
  • Double-click the downloaded driver file to run the driver installation wizard.
  • If the device prompts for User Account Control, click the Yes button.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts and complete the driver installation.


Xerox provides the Xerox Print Service plug-in for Android mobiles. Using this plug-in, you can enable mobile printing without any third-party apps or additional print drivers. Go through the steps below to print remotely from your Android device to the Xerox printer using the Xerox Print Service plug-in.

Installing the Xerox Print Service plug-in:

  • On your Android phone, open Google Play Store and search for Xerox Print Service.
  • Select the plug-in from the search result and tap the Install button.
  • Wait until the download is complete.
  • Launch the plug-in and allow access to your files and folders.


Downloading the driver file:

  • On your Mac, launch the default browser after ensuring that you have an active Internet connection.
  • Visit the official Xerox site and click on Support and Drivers.
  • Input your printer’s model number in the search field and hit the Enter key.
  • Click the Drivers & Downloads tab and select your macOS version from the Operating System drop-down menu.
  • Select the required printer driver from the displayed list.
  • Read the EULA and then click the Accept button.
  • Now, the driver file should be downloaded.

Installing the driver:

  • On your Mac, open the Downloads folder in your browser and select the driver package to view the contents.
  • Double-click the driver file to run the installation wizard.
  • Click Continue and agree to the EULA.
  • Select Agree and then click Install.
  • If prompted, enter your Mac administrator password in the required field.
  • Finish the driver installation by following the on-screen prompts and click Close.

Adding the Xerox printer to your Mac:

  • Go to the top-left corner of your desktop and click the Apple menu.
  • Select the System Preferences option from the drop-down list.
  • Click the Printers & Scanners icon in the System Preferences window.
  • Next, click the Add icon below the Printers panel to add a print queue.
  • Go to the IP tab and enter your printer’s IP address in the Address field.
  • Choose the required protocol from the drop-down menu and choose the Select Software option from the Use drop-down menu.
  • Select the installed Xerox printer driver and click the Add button.

  • If it is not available on the main page, enter your printer’s model number in the search field and hit Enter.

  • Next, click the Download button after agreeing to the terms and conditions.

Installing the Xerox Global Printer Driver:

  • Turn on your Xerox printer and connect it to your computer using a standard USB cable.
  • If your printer supports wireless connectivity, connect your computer and printer over a wireless network.
  • On your Windows computer, go to Control Panel and click the Devices and Printers tab.
  • Head to the top-left corner and click the Add a printer tab.
  • Choose your printer’s name from the displayed list and click Next.
  • If your printer’s name is not listed, click on the ‘The printer that I want isn’t listed’ link and follow the on-screen prompts.
  • In the Add Printer window, select the Add a local printer option.
  • If you have connected the printer via a USB cable, select the Use an existing port option.
  • Otherwise, select the Create a new port option and choose Standard TCP/IP Port from the drop-down menu.
  • Enter your printer’s IP address in the Hostname or IP address field and select the checkbox below Port name.
  • Click Next and choose Xerox below Manufacturer.
  • Under the Printers section, select Xerox Global Printer Driver PS and click Next.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to install the Xerox Global Printer Driver on your Windows computer.


  • Easy Wireless Setup is a program used to configure the wireless settings for your Xerox printer during the driver installation.
  • In this method, you will be prompted to connect your printer and computer using a temporary USB cable.
  • Before you begin, disable the Wi-Fi Direct feature on the printer control panel.
  • Identify the wireless settings such as SSID and network key from your router’s label.
  • Make sure to place your printer close to your router.
  • Next, connect your computer to your local wireless network and launch the Easy Wireless Setup program.
  • Connect your printer and computer via a USB cable.
  • Click Next and wait for the program to search for WLAN data.
  • In the Select Wireless Network window, choose your network from the displayed list.
  • Click Next and enter your network key.
  • On the Wi-Fi Direct Settings screen, deselect the Yes, I want to turn on Wi-Fi Direct on my printer checkbox and click Next.
  • Finally, click Finish to complete the wireless network setup using the Easy Wireless Setup program.


  • Resetting your Xerox printer will erase all the previously configured printer settings to factory defaults.

  • If your Xerox printer is not printing any documents, check whether your printer is turned on and properly connected to the power supply using the supplied power cord.
  • Verify the USB or Wi-Fi connection between your printer and computer.
  • Ensure that no firewall or antivirus software on your computer is blocking your print application from printing.
