Unboxing the Xerox Phaser 6510 Printer:

  • Take the Xerox Phaser 6510 printer from the box.
  • Remove all orange protective tapes around the printer.
  • Open the front door and remove the orange protective tape from the ink cartridges.
  • Open the right-side door and remove the orange protective tape.

Loading Paper in the Bypass Tray:

  • Open the bypass tray.
  • If you are placing a large-sized paper, pull out the extension tray.

  • Now move the paper width guides to the edges of the tray.

  • Load a stack of paper into the tray.

  • Adjust the paper width guides to hold the paper.

  • For one-sided printing, load the pre-printed paper facing up and the top edge going into the printer.
  • For two-sided printing, load the pre-printed paper facing down and the top edge going into the printer.
  • Connect one side of the power cord to the Xerox Phaser 6510 printer and the other side to an electrical power socket.

  • Insert the CD-ROM double-click the setup file.

Xerox Phaser 6510 Wireless Setup:

To set up a wireless connection on the Xerox Phaser 6510 printer, connect the wireless network adapter to the printer.

Steps To Connect The Wireless Network Adapter:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Remove the Wireless Network Adapter Port Cover, press the latch down, and pull the cover from the printer.

  • Remove the protective material from the adapter and install the Wireless Network Adapter on the adapter port.

WPS Wireless Network Connection:

  • After the Wireless Network Adapter is installed, turn ON the printer.
  • Make sure the router is properly configured.
  • Turn on the printer and navigate to Admin Menu, then press OK.
  • Locate to Network/Port and press OK.
  • Locate the Wi-Fi Settings and press OK.
  • Now go to WPS Setup, then press OK.
  • Finally, locate the Start PBC and press OK.
  • If it prompts, press OK, and within 10 seconds, press the WPS button on the router.
  • Wait for few seconds; once the connection setup is complete, the printer restarts automatically.
  • On the other hand, turn on the computer and run the setup CD-ROM.
  • Select the connection type and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the Xerox Phaser 6510 Wi-Fi setup.

  • Power OFF the printer.
  • Make sure the router is turned ON.
  • Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the router’s LAN port and the other end to the printer’s Ethernet port.

  • Set the printer IP address using the printer control panel.
  • On the printer control panel, go to settings and select the connection type.

  • Insert the Software and Documentation disc into the computer.
  • Run the setup file.
  • Accept the License Agreement, select I Agree, and click Next.
  • Select the connection method. When it prompts, connect one end of a USB cable to the printer and the other to the computer LAN port.

  • Connect the Apple device and Xerox Phaser 6510 printer to the same wireless network.
  • Enable both IPP and Bonjour protocols to function AirPrint on the Mac computer.
  • Turn ON the Mac computer and go-to browser. In the address field, type the printer IP address and press Enter.
  • Login using the login credentials.
  • Click Home > Connectivity in the Embedded Web Server.
  • For Mobile Printing, click AirPrint and click the Enable toggle button.
  • If necessary, change the printer name in the Bonjour area.
  • Finally, click OK to complete the AirPrint setup.

  • Install the Xerox Print Experience software on your computer.
  • Place the document on the document feeder.
  • Open the Xerox Print Experience software and click the printer.
  • Now click Scan in the next window, select the size, color, and resolution as required, and click the Scan button.
  • Click the format drop-down box, click PDF or JPEG, and then click Save.
  • A new window will open. Select the file location, type the file name, and click Save.

    Find IP Address in Printer’s Control Panel:
  • Turn ON the printer.
  • On the control panel, press Menu.
  • Locate Admin Menu and touch OK.
  • Now select TCP/IP Settings > Ethernet > IP Address and touch OK.
  • Finally, the IP address of the printer appears on the IP Address screen.

  • Make sure the Xerox Phaser 6510 printer is turned OFF.
  • Open the front door and pull out the old toner cartridge from the printer.
  • Remove the packing materials and the protective tape from the new toner cartridge.
  • Now insert the toner cartridge into the printer until it snaps.
  • Place the correct toner cartridge as mentioned in the printer.
  • Now close the front door and turn on the printer.
  • The toner cartridge has been replaced successfully.

  • The default password for the Xerox Phaser 6510 printer is “1111”. If you can’t access using this password, enter the printer serial number.
  • You can note the serial number from the back of the printer or the configuration report.
  • To change the system administrator password, go to the Embedded Web Server home page and click login. Then enter the login credentials.
  • Click Permissions > Admin > Change Password.
  • Enter the old password/default password.
  • Now type the new password and retype it in the respective boxes (the new password should be case-sensitive).
  • Finally, click Ok.

  • Turn on your Windows computer, then open the file which you are going to print.
  • Load a paper stack on the feeder.
  • Open the Xerox application on your computer and select Print or press the CTRL + P buttons on the keyboard.
  • Select the Xerox Phaser 6510 printer and click Printing Properties.
  • Now select the Basic tab.
  • From the 2-Sided Printing section, select Long Edge. This option is used for book bindings.
  • Now select OK to confirm the selection and click OK to print the document.

Xerox Phaser 6510 Factory Reset

  • If you choose factory reset, all the data might be lost from the printer settings.
  • Turn ON the printer, and on the control panel, press Menu.
  • Navigate to Admin Menu > Init/Delete Data > Delete All Data.
  • If prompted, press OK.
  • Now the Reboot printer prompt appears. Press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds.
  • Now turn ON the printer and continue the on-screen instruction to complete the factory reset process.

  • Check the printer is turned ON and connected to the router.
  • Check the Ethernet cable on the router (for wired connection).
  • Clear the print queue on your computer.
  • Select the Start button and then select Settings.
  • Now click Devices and click Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your printer and click Open queue.
  • Under the Printer option, uncheck Pause Printing and Use Printer Offline.

  • Check the printer driver is installed on the computer.
  • Check the connection between the printer and the computer.
  • Check if there are any torn paper inside the bypass feeder.
  • If any error message blinks on the control panel, clear the error and restart the printer.

Xerox Phaser 6510 Paper Jam:

  • Turn OFF the printer.
  • Remove all of the paper from the bypass tray.
  • Grasp the sides of the bypass tray and pull the tray from the printer.
  • Now remove tray 1 from the printer.
  • Remove any torn/jammed paper from the printer.
  • Insert tray 1 and the bypass tray into the original position.
  • Now turn ON the printer and enjoy printing.

How To Clean Xerox Phaser 6510?

  • Wipe the paper tray, output tray, control panel, and around the printer with a soft cloth.
  • Open the right-side door and press the latch and lower the top of the waste cartridge.
  • Remove the cleaning rod from the printer.
  • Insert the cleaning rod into the cleaning holes in the drum cartridge. Repeat this step three times for all four drum cartridges.
  • Once all the drum cartridges are cleaned, close the waste cartridge and rear door.

  • If the printer control panel prompts a Check Primary Net message, turn ON your computer and go to the default browser.
  • Enter the printer IP address in the address field and press Enter.
  • Log in to the Embedded Web Server home page.
  • Click admin on the User Accounts window.
  • Enter the default password “1111” on the Password Required box and click Log In.
  • Click Connectivity and select Ethernet.
  • From the Common section window, click Exit.
  • Now click Primary Network, select Wi-Fi, and click OK.
  • If prompted, restart the computer and printer.

  • Error Code: 016-774 - Disk full.
  • Error Code: 016-778 – HDD full.
