Let’s say you own a Lexmark printer and you are looking forward to performing some functions using it. A simple Lexmark printer has a lot of features. One such feature that is most applauded is scanning.    Before we proceed with the steps to scan from your Lexmark printer to your computer, ensure that you have performed the basic hardware and software setup for the printer to function in the first place. After that, you must ensure that the Lexmark printer is connected to the computer (either through the USB interface or via wireless connection).

The simplest way to connect the Lexmark printer to your computer is by using the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS).

  • Wi-Fi Protected Setup: The WPS method will work if you have a WPS-enabled router.
  • From the printer control panel, select the following options.
  • Settings > Network/Ports > Wireless > Wi-Fi Protected Setup > Start Push Button Method.
  • Press the WPS button (on the router).
  • The printer will try to find the wireless connection coming from the router.
  • Now, the printer will be connected to the wireless network using the WPS method.

Lexmark printers have two different places to place the original documents.

  • Auto Document Feeder: Place the document you want to scan into the ADF of the printer.
  • Scanner Glass: Place the original document on the scanner glass.

Based on your choice, you can place the document(s) either in the Auto Document Feeder or the scanner glass.
