ISSUE 1: PAPER JAM

  • Lift the scanning unit of the printer. 
  • Gently remove the jam clearance cover from the front (gently squeeze it to remove the cover).
  • Ensure that the print head is moved to the side and away from the jammed paper.
  • Firmly grasp the jammed paper and remove it using both hands.
  • Make sure that you do not damage the paper more.
  • Check for the paper fragments and discard them immediately.
  • Reattach the clearance cover to its position until it clicks in place.
  • Close the scanning unit and proceed with the print job.
 

PAPER JAM IN THE PAPER TRAY

  • Pull the paper tray from the Lexmark printer.
  • Look inside the printer and remove the jammed paper if there are any.
  • Use both hands and discard them once and for all.
  • In the paper tray, ensure that the paper is properly stacked without any damages or curls.
  • Insert the paper tray back into the Lexmark printer.
 

PAPER JAM IN THE AUTO DOCUMENT FEEDER

  • Press the ADF button next to the Auto Document Feeder.
  • Open the ADF cover.
  • Firmly grasp the jammed paper that is present inside.
  • Pull out the jammed paper from the printer along with the fragments present inside.
  • Close the ADF cover until it snaps in place.

PAPER JAM IN THE DUPLEX UNIT

  • Have a view of the printer from the backside.
  • Pull the latches on either side of the duplex unit and release them.
  • Look inside the printer and locate the jammed paper.
  • Firmly grasp the paper and remove it from the printer completely.
  • Make sure that the fragments of the paper are also discarded.
  • Attach the duplex unit back to the printer.

PAPER JAM IN THE EXIT TRAY

  • Right below the printer control panel, gently grasp the jammed paper and discard it.
  • Ensure that the fragments of the paper are also removed.
  • Press the OK button to continue printing.

ISSUE 2: PRINTER DOES NOT PRINT

WINDOWS:

  • Open the Control Panel window (Windows + R).
  • Select the Printers & Scanners option.

  • Click on the Open queue button.
  • Do a right-click and delete the pending print jobs in the list.
 

MAC:

  • Click the Apple icon.
  • Select the System Preferences option.
  • Click on the Printers & Scanners option.
  • Do a double-click on the Lexmark printer.
  • Click on the pending print jobs and click on the X button.

MAC:

  • Select either the Print & Scan option or Printers & Scanners option.
  • Select the printer that is offline from the list of printers on the left section.
  • Click the Print tab.
  • Below the printer, you will find three sections.
