  • Check if your printer and computer are placed within the wireless network range.

  • Insert the CD-ROM into your CD drive to begin the driver installation process.

  • Go to the Canon USA site.
  • Click Support --> Software & Drivers.
  • Now, click Download.
  • Type your product name and select your printer from the suggestions.
  • Click the Drivers & Downloads tab.

  • Click the Select button next to your driver.

  • Run the setup file and wait until the files are extracted.

  • Read the End User License Agreement completely and click Yes.
  • Now, the Extended Survey Program screen will appear, where you can choose Agree or Do not Agree. It is optional.
  • If the Firewall Settings screen appears, make sure that the Deactivate the block option is enabled. Click Next.
  • When you are asked to allow your printer to be used with a wireless connection, click Yes.
Setup Complete Message
  • It might take 2 minutes to download the necessary files.
  • Once the installation is completed, your printer registration with the computer begins.
  • Wait patiently for a few minutes for the printer to connect to your computer.
  • When you are prompted to perform print head alignment, insert plain unused paper into the input paper tray and click the Print Head Alignment button on your computer.
  • Click Start.
  • Once the process is over, click Next.
  • On the Test Print screen, click Start.

Note: Perform a Test Print to make sure that everything is fine with the printer and computer connections. Make sure to load paper before starting the test print.

  • Once the test print is done, select Next.
  • You will see the Setup Complete message. Here, click Next.
  • Now, the Software Installation List screen appears. Here, you can select the optional software if you wish to download it. Once selected, click Next.
  • Wait for the download to complete.
  • On the next screen, you’ll find the Instructions button that leads to the procedure to set up your smartphone or tablet. If you wish to use your printer via smartphone or tablet, you can proceed with that, or just click on the Next button to move to the final setup process.
  • Click Register on the User Registration screen.
  • Click Exit.
