How To Configure Canon Pixma Pro 200 Setup?

Canon Pixma Pro 200 is a professional photo printer. Paper can be loaded either into the top tray or manual feed for printing. The printer supports the Wired LAN, Wireless LAN, and Hi-Speed USB connectivity interfaces. The simple steps to set up your printer are given here. Unpack and turn on your printer

  • Remove the packing materials and dispose of them.
  • Insert the printer’s power cord into a power outlet.
  • To power up the printer, press the ON button.
  • Set your language, select the Yes option, and press the OK button.
  • Specify the date and time and then press OK.

Install the print head and ink tanks

  • Lower the paper output tray and raise the top cover.
  • Unpack the print head and place it in the print head holder.
  • Insert all the ink tanks into the slots correctly.
  • Lower the top cover. Then start the Canon Pixma Pro 200 setup.

Load paper

  • Press the OK button and open the paper support.
  • Load a letter-sized paper and align the paper guide.
  • Once you close the feed slot cover, pull out the paper output support.
  • Press OK -> Next.

Install the printer software

  • Select your connection type and perform the LCD panel instructions.
  • Use the Setup CD-ROM to install the printer software on your computer.


  • Download the Canon Pixma Pro 200 printer driver by clicking the Driver Download button on this page.
  • It can also be downloaded from the manufacturer website. For this, access the official Canon page and search for your printer.
  • Click the Drivers & Downloads tab and click the Select button beside the Canon Pixma Pro 200 driver setup package file.
  • Once you click Download, the installer will be saved on your computer.


  • Download the printer driver and double-click it to start the installation.
  • Alternatively, insert the setup CD-ROM into your computer’s CD drive and double-click the EasySetup.exe file to begin the installation.
  • Proceed with the on-screen prompts to finish the installation.
  • While installing, specify your connection type to establish a connection between the printer and your computer.


  • Ensure that the printer is turned on.
  • On the printer’s control panel, select LAN settings -> Wi-Fi -> Settings -> Wi-Fi setup -> Easy wireless connect.
  • Press the OK button and then continue with the LCD panel instructions to finish the Canon Pixma Pro 200 wireless setup.
  • Once done, press the OK button.
  • Make sure to install the printer software on your computer.

Load paper

  • Open the paper support followed by the paper output tray.
  • Once you open the output tray extension, pull out the paper output support from the printer.
  • Now, you have to open the feed slot cover.
  • Move the right paper guide and place enough paper with their print side face down in the slot.
  • Slide the right paper guide and close the feed slot cover.
  • On the printer’s control panel, set the page size and type and select the Register option.

Print from your Windows computer

  • On your Windows computer, open the file or document to print.
  • Click the File tab and then select the Print option.
  • Select the printer and click the Preferences button.
  • When the Printing Preferences window opens, click the Quick Setup tab. Choose your printing profile from the Commonly Used Settings menu.
  • After selecting the printing profile, the Additional Features, Media Type, and Printer Paper Size fields will be set automatically with the preset values.
  • Choose your paper source from the Paper Source drop-down menu.
  • Once done with the print settings, click the OK button after the Canon Pixma Pro 200 setup.

Print from your Mac computer

  • On your Mac computer, open the file for printing.
  • Now, choose the Print option from the File menu.
  • Navigate to the Printer drop-down menu and make sure your printer has been selected.
  • Click the Show Details button.
  • Choose the size of your paper from the Paper Size drop-down menu.
  • Choose the Quality & Media option from the pop-up menu.
  • Set the media type and paper source in the Media Type and Paper Source fields, respectively.
  • Click the Print button on the bottom of the dialog box. Now, the printer begins to print the file.


  • First, ensure that the Power LED is turned on. If not, power up the printer.
  • Make sure you have selected the Canon Pixma Pro 200 printer for printing.
  • Power cycle the printer and check if the problem has been resolved.
  • If not, follow the steps to change the printer status.
  • On your Windows 10 computer, enter “control printers” in the Run dialog box.
  • Once you right-click the printer icon, click the See what’s printing option.
  • When the next window prompts, click the Printer tab and deselect the Use Printer Offline option after the Canon Pixma Pro 200 setup.


To get the best print result, the print head must not be clogged. It occurs due to ink or dust in the nozzle.

Print head cleaning

  • If your print quality is not satisfactory, clean the print head as per the steps given below.
  • Make sure the Canon printer is turned on.
  • Place some paper in the printer’s top feed.
  • On the operation panel, select the Maintenance option followed by the Print Head Cleaning option.
  • Choose the Cleaning option.
  • Note: If you want to perform deep cleaning, choose the Deep Cleaning option instead of the Cleaning option.
  • Choose the ink group to clean and select the Yes option.
  • Wait until the pattern print confirmation screen appears on the display panel.
  • Once you select the Yes option, the printer will print a nozzle check pattern.
  • Once done, select the OK option.

Print head alignment

  • If the print result is not as expected, align the print head by performing the following steps.
  • Ensure that your printer is turned on.
  • On the printer’s operation panel, select Maintenance -> Print Head Alignment.
  • Choose the Manual option and select the Yes option.
  • Load some letter-sized paper into the top feed or manual feed tray.
  • Once you select the OK option, the printer will print a print head alignment pattern.
  • When the Did the patterns print correctly message appears, select the Yes option if the printed pattern is correct. 
  • Select Next -> OK -> OK to finish the Canon Pixma Pro 200 setup.
