Step 1: Unpacking the printer
  • Open the product box.
  • Make sure that the starter ink cartridges, quick setup guide, product safety guide, setup CD, power cord, and telephone line cord are provided along with the printer.

  • First, turn on your router.
  • Now, power up your Brother printer and go to the Settings section on the control panel.

For example, if the black cartridge is empty or low, the Replay Ink message is displayed on the printer screen.   • Open your printer’s ink cartridge cover.
  • Locate the empty or low ink cartridge and release its lever.
  • Remove the empty cartridge from its slot.

  • Select the Machine Info option followed by Firmware Update.
  • Press the OK button followed by Stop/Exit.
  • Now, if a firmware update is available for your printer, then it will be initiated shortly.

To print a document using AirPrint, you need to prepare the printer and Mac computer for it.

  • Connect your Brother printer and the Mac computer to the same wireless network connection.

  • Click Printers & Scanners > “+.”
